Rocky of NJ the Dog needs a home

The rumors are true! I'm Rocky, a charming bachelor looking for a "Hooman" to spend my life with! I may not be on twitter but I will still follow you and be your second shadow. On our first meeting I may be very nervous and though I will bark at you I can't control my fluffy tail and will immediately want love and attention. This is only because I have had a rough start on my life where my previous families were  abusive to me. It has made me wary of strangers, especially men. If you give me time though I will stand by you and your family and be your little protector. When someone knocks or comes it I will let you know with my strong bark! My Foster Mommy is teaching me to be a bit quieter when I go on a barking rampage. We both sit down and put our foreheads together. I think I just get a little worried someone might be coming in to snatch her away from me, but I quiet down after a few moments. My Foster Mommy says I have cuddle fits If you don't give me any love. I will go into fits of whining and barking until you at least rub my forehead or give me belly rubs. I do know words- sit, stay,lay down and outside.  I dream of our strolls together. I walk wonderfully on a leash. When my Foster Mom is off to work or has errands I happily walk right into my cage  and wait her return. At night I can either be in the cage or keep you warm as I also like to stick close to you. I have been around my Foster brother, Neo, and I do enjoy his company but when he plays I prefer to lay down and sleep at my Foster's feet.  I await to start our days together where I will wake you up with cuddle fits.  

Rocky will be getting neutered on Feb 12th.  He will be available for adoption after recovery.

Update:  Rocky is not good with cats!

Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state.

If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers.

There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.
